Once I was hired for a job that required a security clearance.
After putting in my application, I got a phone call from someone wanting to check a few details.
“Uh oh!” I thought.
She started by checking where I was born. “It says here you were born in London.”
“Yes, that’s right.”
“Was your father in England at the time?”
It was an odd question, and I had to think for a second. “Err… yes, yes he was,” I replied.
“And what about your mother?”

Hmmm… how would the remote possibility that a mother gives birth over a border line affect a security clearance…. will ponder this.

If a child is born on an aircraft in-flight, apparently the pilot gets to choose the nationality of the child! (or so the UL goes…)
