Having your call center agent interrupt me at home was like a personal gift, from you to me. I was expecting another call, so I dropped what I was doing and rushed to the phone, rather than screening it like I normally would do. The other call was completely forgotten by me when your agent tried to upsell my current car insurance (which is due for renewal in a fortnight) into a complete home and contents, CTP and comprehensive insurance triumvirate for a discount of up to fifteen percent!
The resulting irritation from your call motivated me to do something I was going to postpone to until next year – to ring around and get quotes from your competitors, rather than complacently renewing with my current provider (i.e. you, GIO).
The result was a fifty percent reduction in premiums now that I am with one of your competitors, with a policy more closely matched to my needs.
