OddThinking

Recently (since the move to a new server a few months ago), Somethinkodd.com has been down for a couple of minutes, many many times.

I installed Unison a few days ago. It is a very useful application – it keeps folders on different machines synchronised. I have been using it to edit files locally, and have them hosted by my web-server when I am ready.

In the EmailShroud 2.0 plugin, I use a couple of non-standard attributes on the anchor tag.

Now, I am looking at cleaning it up and ensure it exhibits nothing but pure validation goodness…

I just don’t know how.

Short version: OddThinking occasionally gets some weird off-topic comments on the EmailShroud page. I have taken some action, and I am hoping it will stop now.

Here’s a little puzzle for web-developers.

Netscape defined a number of colour names that, although not standard, are accepted by a number of browsers. Their definitions of some of the colours leave me rather confused.

I was called back angrily to fix the TV – when Position 8 was selected, Channel 2 was shown, rather than the VCR!

Huh? I fixed that yesterday? I re-tuned it, and scratched my head, and watched it for a while. It worked fine.

This repeated several times with my family getting more and more annoyed at me.
